Church History

1971 – 1973

  • Studied in Bethany Bible College in Makati at the age of 17

1973 – 1976

  • Transferred to International Baptist College in Mandaluyong and finished the three-year Theology course


  • Sent by Pastor Gavina Tica, IBC President, to Bataan; served as Intern Pastor at Lighthouse Baptist Church


  • Transferred to Inicbulan Baptist Church in Bauan and became the Church Pastor for six months
  • Started a mission in Batangas City
  • Held mission’s first service in their mission house at Vergara St., Batangas City (month of September)
  • Pastor Routh arrived from Vietnam and helped Pastor Caesar in the mission field in Batangas
  • Pastor Caesar Hernandez was ordained by Pastor Gavino Tica in Malabon; followed by another ordination in Batangas


  • The mission at Vergara St., Batangas City, was organized by Pastor Tatay Abante
  • Transferred to Batangas City South Elementary School to accommodate the growing church attendees

 1982 – 1983’s

  • Established Good Shepherd Baptist Theological Institute
  • Prayed for and acquired the lot in Arce Subdivision, Hilltop, Batangas City; built a church in the place
  • Had their first daughter church in Sorosoro, followed by churches in Bauan, San Jose, Lemery, Sto. Tomas, Alitagtag, and Rosario

1985’s -1989’s

  • Visited America with Pastor Routh
  • Became a member of Baptist Mission Partner (BMP)


  • Started evangelistic campaigns/activities in Batangas
  • Visited America for deputation of HELP, a ministry of BMP


  • Established mission in San Pascual with Pastor Jobert Hernandez as mission pastor


  • Found and established Good Shepherd Christian Academy of Batangas, an elementary school


  • Started mission at Dagatan, Batangas


  • Started mission at San Miguel, Batangas City


  • The Good Shepherd Baptist Mission in Dagatan was organized as a church; named as God is Able Baptist Church
  • Built the new building for the Good Shepherd Christian Academy of Batangas

2010’s onwards

  • Bought land for the proposed High School Department
  • New workers committed their lives for the Lord
  • New outreaches were opened in Barangay Puyo and Concepcion in Batangas City and Barangay Lodlod in Lipa City
